Annual Conference on the Teaching of Writing

The UConn First-Year Writing program has hosted the Annual Conference on the Teaching of Writing every year since 2005. The conference has grown steadily to become a national conference, attracting instructors of writing and writing program administrators from high schools, community colleges, four-year colleges and universities across the country. Former keynote speakers include Alexander Reid, Min-Zhan Lu and Bruce Horner, Cheryl Glenn, Patricia Bizzell and John Trimbur. Calls for paper and panel submissions are posted in January each year with accepted applicants notified in February. The conference traditionally takes place in late March. Guests at the 11th Annual Conference on the Teaching of Writing gather in the UCONN Student Union Ballroom for lunch and keynote speech.
